OUR PHILOSOPHY
Behaviour shapes everything.
Most coaching education focuses on tactics, drills and technique. GENTLE focuses on the part nobody teaches, and the part that matters most.
The coach creates the environment. The environment shapes the relationship. The relationship shapes everything else, including the development you actually want.
THE PROBLEM WE EXIST TO SOLVE
Most coaches mean well.
Almost none have been taught this.
Grassroots youth sport is built on volunteers — well-intentioned adults stepping up to give children an experience. They get tactical training, safeguarding modules, first aid badges. What they almost never get is training in the thing that matters most: how their behaviour shapes the children they coach.
THE METHOD
The GENTLE Framework.
Six core areas. One coaching philosophy. Built from real research, real data, and 20+ years of working with children and coaches in sport and education.

IN THE FIELD
Built from real data.
Tested with real coaches.
GENTLE is being piloted at Luton Town Ladies FC across the U7–U16 phase. We surveyed coaches, parents and players to understand how the coaching environment is actually experienced, from all three sides.

SOUND FAMILIAR?
These moments happen every week.
Not in bad environments. In ordinary ones, with well-meaning coaches and parents who simply were never taught what to do in the moment that matters.
ABOUT THE FOUNDER
Why this works exists.
I'm Nat. My passion for this work is personal. I played academy football as a young player and struggled, not with the game, but with the lack of emotional awareness in the environment around me. The coaches didn't have the tools. My dad didn't have the tools. The cost was real and it lasted.I've been coaching at Luton Town Ladies FC for three years, working alongside my own daughter at U12s. Before that, twenty years of involvement in coaching and education across multiple sports and settings.I'm a primary school teacher by profession — a SEND specialist working with children whose communication, regulation and emotional needs sit at the centre of everything I do. That training shapes how I see coaching. Behaviour is communication — for the children we teach, and for the adults who lead them.GENTLE is the thing I wish had existed for me. And it's the thing I'm now building so that the next generation of children don't have to learn the hard way.
